Clutter Doctor
If you really want to prepare your home for sale, you need to get rid of clutter. All the items that you have been collecting for years are piled up in your home.
You don't know what to do because you are so attached to them. Organize your space or the clutter will control your!
I know it's hard at the beginning, but you need to free yourself from this situation. Sooner than later, you are going to be glad you did.

I have some ideas that will help you with the process of decluttering.
Create 3 piles for your items.
A) First pile: "Get rid of"
How to decide what to do? I think the smartest thing to do is ask yourself: Do I need this? If you still don't have a clue just ask yourself again: Have I used this item in the last year? If not, there is a big chance that you won't use it again. Why a year? My personal rule is half a year, but there are exceptions, such as seasonal items. For example: skis or bathing suits, etc... Please don't keep ice skates in your attic from 20 years ago. I see you smiling! :) Go ahead, put it in the pile. It only hurts for a second!
B) Second pile: "Keep"
Put everything in this pile that you use frequently. Be sure about your decision. Be ruthless. Sometimes it feels good to let it go in order to organize the house.
C) Third pile: "Maybe"
Put everything here that you are hesitant about but possibly can get rid of. There is a twist, of course. Ask others in your household to pick items that belong to another that you would like to see go. Now, you can play a game, called "Clutter Control". Everyone gets to pick a total of 5 (or whatever # you want) from others' piles to get rid of. Maybe you will allow yours to be trashed just to see other things go. Who knows? This little game can be very beneficial to everyone.
